As with any surgical procedure, there is some amount of risk. During the pre-operative consultation, Dr. Passmore determines if the patient is a good surgical candidate. She evaluates the patient’s overall health and if their lifestyle will promote optimal post-operative healing with desired results. She then provides detailed information regarding the risks and benefits of the desired surgery, and what the patient’s self-care responsibilities will be during the recuperation period.

What does it mean for a doctor to be “Board Certified?”
For a physician to become board certified, they must earn a degree from a qualified medical school, complete a three to five-year residency program in their chosen specialty, then complete a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation that is designed and administered by specialists in the physician’s specific area of medicine.
Being board certified, and maintaining that certification, means that the physician demonstrates exceptional expertise in his or her specialty, goes through a periodic re-certification process, and engages in continuing education thereby keeping them current in their chosen field of practice.

Where can I see “before and after” photos?
Internet content is available for all eyes to see. Because before and after photos show private areas of the anatomy, Dr. Passmore prefers surgical candidates to view photos of her surgical results in the privacy of her office.
Are there cosmetic options that will improve my appearance without downtime after surgery?
First of all, many surgeries are now performed as outpatient procedures with very little downtime required. In a consultation with Dr. Passmore, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the recovery period for the procedure that interests you. Alternately, there are very effective in-office procedures – including Ultherapy®, fillers, and injectibles – that can improve your facial appearance with no downtime at all.
Will insurance cover my surgery?
Cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. Some reconstructive surgery is covered, but the amount of coverage varies among insurance providers. When insurance providers pay only a portion of our fee, patients are responsible for the amount not paid by their insurer. We request co-pays, deductibles, and the amount not paid by insurance to be paid at the time of your visit. We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.
For patients with in-network plans, we will gladly help you contact your insurance company with a description of proposed surgical procedures in advance of treatment. Therefore, it’s very important that you provide us with accurate insurance information.
Is financing available for cosmetic surgery?
