Surgical and non-surgical procedures are available to improve your body image. Some reshape your body; others remove unsightly spider veins. All can help redefine how you feel about yourself
Finish the job where exercise and dieting fail. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to traditional weight loss methods
Very few men or women have what they would consider the perfect shape. Quite often the complaint is that some area of their body is too large.
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure that helps to re-contour or “sculpt” the body by removing unwanted localized deposits of fat from specific areas (i.e. abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, chin, and neck). Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube is inserted to the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The fat cells are then broken apart and suctioned out. Depending on the size of the area and the amount of fat being removed, the time required to perform liposuction will vary.
Following liposuction, a compression garment must be worn for an extended period to optimize results. Most people return to work within the week following the procedure, although a feeling of soreness will be experienced for several weeks. Liposuction is not a replacement for diet and exercise, and it is not a means of weight loss, but it is a safe, effective way to improve problem areas of your body.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Smooth, flatten and flatten your tummy for a sexy, toned look! This major surgical procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen giving your abdomen a more slender appearance.
A firm, flat stomach is desirable for both men and women. Age, weight fluctuations, pregnancy, and other factors can lead to relaxation of the abdominal muscles, and an excess collection of fat in the area.
The goal of Abdominoplasty is to remove excess skin and tighten the underlying musculature, resulting in a flatter, firmer, tighter stomach and a thinner waist as well. Following the procedure, a compression garment must be worn for an extended period to optimize results.
A Mini Abdominoplasty may be recommended if all the stomach fullness is at or below the belly button and the candidate is within 15-20 pounds of their ideal weight. This mini tummy tuck tightens the lower abdominal wall skin only, and produces the shortest scar of Abdominoplasty procedures. With this outpatient surgery, most normal activities may be resumed within one week, with a return to sports activities within 4-6 weeks.
A Standard or Extended Abdominoplasty requires an incision between the pubic hairline and navel. Through the incision, weakened abdominal muscles are repaired and excess fat, tissue, and skin is removed. The procedure is outpatient, but the operative time and recovery period is longer than with the Mini Abdominoplasty.

Spider Vein Treatments
Stop covering your legs with pants and long skirts and remove those spider veins with our advanced laser technology. Spider veins on the legs or on the nose or face will disappear with these treatments.
Spider veins are superficial veins that have become permanently dilated. They may appear in a linear, branch-like, or cartwheel (spider) shape. Without treatment, spider veins are permanent. Many women must choose their wardrobe – pants and long skirts – to hide unsightly spider veins.
There are two common methods used to treat spider veins in the legs: Sclerotherapy and Laser therapy (or a combination of both). Sclerotherapy is the method of injecting sclerosing solution into each affected vein, causing the vein to collapse and fade from view. No anesthesia is needed and each session (two or more are usually required) lasts less than an hour. Laser therapy is the use of an intense beam of light that is directed at the smaller caliber spider veins. Most patients need several 30-minute sessions to achieve desired results. Sclerotherapy is performed in the office.
Recovery from each spider vein treatment session takes approximately one month. Normal activity may be slightly modified as healing takes place.

Excessive Perspiration (Axillary Hyperhidrosis)
Sweating is a natural, necessary part of our anatomical make-up that enables our body to cool itself. But excessive sweating – not necessarily related to exertion, temperature, or emotion – indicates a condition known as hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis can occur anywhere there are sweat glands including the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, face, trunk, and underarms. This condition causes embarrassment and misery.
The cause is unknown, but now there is help for axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis: BOTOX® Cosmetic injections. The injections are administered locally (under the arms) with an ultra-thin needle. After one full week, patients experience the full effect of the treatment and can expect – on average – six months of dryness. As a board-certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Passmore is a knowledgeable and experienced injector of BOTOX® Cosmetic.
