Smooth, even-toned skin is something to be admired. It’s possible to maintain the beautiful complexion we were born with, but highly improbable. Age, sun exposure, medication, acne, and disease can cause fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and skin discoloration.
As the name implies, a chemical peel uses a chemical solution to remove dull, damaged skin cells and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Passmore utilizes three highly effective peels. A consultation determines the type of peel that is right for the individual. There are several considerations including the degree of skin damage, the desired outcome, and the amount of “downtime” the client is willing to experience. For maximum results, a series of chemical peels are required at the beginning of treatment, then maintenance peels at regular intervals.
Whether applied to the face, hands, or neck, the result is the youthful glow of smooth, regenerated skin.

A double chin is a cosmetic nuisance to many men and women. In the past, there was nothing short of surgery to correct it. But now there’s KYBELLA™.
KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat). The active ingredient in KYBELLA™ is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
Dr. Passmore will consult with you to determine if you are a candidate for KYBELLA™. She will then customize a treatment plan to help improve your chin profile. KYBELLA™ is administered in a series of injections at each treatment session, which are spaced a month or more apart. Many patients experience visible contouring of their chin profile in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. Up to 6 treatments may be administered.

Part of the aging process, unfortunately, is a drop in collagen and fatty levels in our face causing a loss of volume. Therefore, a surface that was once full and tight becomes wrinkled and saggy in appearance.
A surgical option for a more youthful look is a facelift. A wonderful non-surgical option is the use of safe, temporary fillers. Using filler involves utilizing a small needle to inject a substance that naturally occurs in your body to key areas on your face – forehead, nasolabial folds, marionette lines (around mouth), lips, and chin. Volume is restored, wrinkles vanish, and a healthy fullness is restored to your face. There is no anesthesia involved and no down-time. The procedure takes less than one hour to complete, and the effects last from 3 to 12 months.
As a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Passmore is highly-trained in facial anatomy. Dr. Passmore is also highly-skilled as an injector of Juvéderm® XC, Juvéderm Vollure™ XC, Juvéderm Voluma™ XC, Restylane®, Radiesse® Volumizing Filler, and Sculptra®aesthetic. Laser Skin Resurfacing
You can’t hide wrinkles or scars with makeup. You can, however, erase or minimize their appearance with Laser Skin Resurfacing. This is one of the most effective procedures available to Cosmetic Surgeons today.
Lasers have been utilized by surgeons for over 20 years, with each new generation of equipment offering increased superiority. Laser Skin Resurfacing is considered an extensive resurfacing technique to rid the face/neck of dead skin cells. The result is stimulated collagen production (improving the texture and elasticity of the skin), uniform pigmentation, and vibrant healthy skin. Laser Skin Resurfacing is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia for the client’s comfort. There is significant downtime with this procedure, from 10 to 14 days.
With proper skin-care following Laser Skin Resurfacing, the effect of the treatment can last for years – an amazing complexion with diminished fine lines and wrinkles.

If a gradual, subtle approach to a more youthful appearance appeals to you, Sculptra®aesthetic might be your answer.
Beginning in our 20s, our body’s production of collagen decreases, and wrinkles and folds begin to appear. The main ingredient of Sculptra®aesthetic is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that helps to replace lost collagen. The Sculptra®aesthetic procedure is a series of injections that takes place over a few months. The number of injections at each session varies according to the needs of the client. The treatment is used to correct deep folds between the nose and the mouth, the lines framing your mouth, and chin wrinkles. Sculptra®aesthetic is a “liquid facelift” which gives subtle results over time and lasts up to two years.
As a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Passmore is highly-trained in facial anatomy. Dr. Passmore also is a Certified Sculptra®aesthetic injector. With any cosmetic procedure, it is important that you trust your appearance to expertise, experience, and knowledge.

It takes years to acquire frown lines between your eyes, but mere weeks to erase them with the help of Xeomin®. Xeomin® is injected using an ultra-thin needle. The active ingredient, Botulinum toxin type A, acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By relaxing the muscular contractions, frown lines between your eyes are smoothed, resulting in a younger, softer appearance. Injection discomfort is minimal and there is no downtime. Typically, significant results are noticed two weeks following the injections with results lasting three to four months.
Many people who could benefit from chin augmentation do not know it, because they rarely see their own profile. While we usually see ourselves only from face forward, other persons may be keenly aware of our lack of facial symmetry caused by a “weak” chin. A short, undersized chin can also accentuate other problems. An overbite can appear more severe, and a double chin even more pronounced.
A receding chin, a chin that looks too small in comparison with other facial features, or a desire for increase chin prominence, indicates the need for chin augmentation. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis. An incision is made inside the lower lip or under the chin, and a previously selected implant is put into place. Swelling and tenderness is expected to subside within 1-3 months.
The results…an improved, attractive profile that creates balance between the chin and other facial features.

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Most people who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their ears complain that they are too big. Actually, it is rarely the size of the ears that is the problem, but their shape or the degree to which they protrude from the head. Permanently correcting misshapen or disproportionate ears is possible with Otoplasty (ear surgery).
Otoplasty may be performed on children over the age of 5 through adulthood. It is an outpatient procedure with minimal scarring as the incisions are made in the natural creases of the ear. Within three weeks the ears will appear normal. But, it is necessary to wear an external ear protector (head band type bandage) with a cup that goes over the ear at night for a prolonged period of time in order to protect the ears while the cartilage forms to its new shape. Contact sports should be avoided for at least a month following surgery.
If you’ve lived your life being self-conscious about your ears, maybe even attempting to hide them, then ear surgery might be a consideration for you. Surgery of the ear offers immediate, dramatic results that will last a lifetime.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)
The usual complaint from the patient who is interested in having an eyelid lift is, “People always ask me if I’m tired or sad.” No one wants to look sad when they’re not.
A surgical procedure called Blepharoplasty is one option for drooping eyelids. A more youthful, vibrant appearance is achieved by removing excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids as necessary to decrease puffiness and heaviness around the eyes. This is often accompanied by periorbital laser resurfacing to tighten the skin around the eye. The surgery is performed in an outpatient setting. The incisions follow the natural lines and creases around your eyes so surgical scars are generally not an issue. Dr. Passmore uses a laser cutting tool which typically lessens postoperative bruising. After two to three days, you should be able to read or watch television, and contact lenses may be worn two weeks following surgery. Most people feel ready to resume normal activities outside the home in a couple of weeks.
If blepharoplasty is recommended for the purpose of improving vision (field of vision studies required), insurance will sometimes pay a portion of the surgical and hospital expenses.

More and more men and women are choosing facelift as an option for a long-lasting, youthful appearance. Facelift is recommended for healthy individuals who do not smoke and who have realistic expectations of the outcome of the surgery. The surgery is highly individualized and tremendously effective in correcting the appearance of jowls, creases between the base of the nose and the corners of the mouth, and the loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone in the lower third of the face. A facelift is often accompanied by a neck and jowl lift and eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) for an overall customized transformation.
Facelift surgery is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. Incisions for a standard facelift are made within the hairline, or along the hairline in some cases and sometimes around the ears. Some degree of facial swelling and bruising is expected, but typically subsides after three weeks.
Facelift surgery is a personal decision and should be made after an extensive consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)
Nose reshaping, also known as rhinoplasty, can be performed to correct an abnormal appearance of the nose as a result of birth defects, injury, or disease. It is also effective for reshaping a nose that is cosmetically unattractive and does not “fit” with other facial features.
Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure on individuals 18 years of age and over. Incision lines vary according to the degree of reshaping that is to take place. In a standard rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside the nostrils. Small external incisions may be necessary for a badly misshapen or large nose. Following the surgery, an external splint must be worn for up to 14 days. Bruising and swelling progressively subside over 2-4 weeks.
If rhinoplasty is recommended to correct difficult breathing through the nose, the patient should consult a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat physician) so that insurance coverage may be possible.
The result of the surgery is an attractive nose shape that is proportionate to other facial features – a look you can be proud of.
